Where can I find a full coverage bikini top with a rectangular straight across top piece? The kind where the top piece is like a rectangle (no cleavage). I can't seem to find one online. | | Isn't that an oxymoron - "full-coverage" and "bikini"??? | What does full coverage mean for bathing suits? (This is in terms of the bottom not the top!!!) Ok so I was looking at bathing suits and they would say Full Coverage/Moderate/ or Minimal. I thought how much skin it covers, but some of the surf shorts were saying minimal and some of the low bikinis were saying full coverage or moderate coverage hipster, stuff like that. So I have no idea what this means! Thanks so much!!! | Check the Swimwear Glossary --> www.tropicalbeachswimwear.com/Glo…
It might have other terms you haven't come across yet, too. | How do I tell my mom to wear a swimsuit with more coverage? My mom still wears bikinis. They aren't skimpy or anything it's just that she has put on weight over the years and they don't flatter her at all. I don't want to hurt her feelings but I think she would look so much better in a one piece. None of her friends and no one else her age/size wears bikinis anymore. Is it wrong that I even care about this? Should I say something or just get over it? | | Hi Brit, mums can be sooo embarrassing, trust me I have one too but as you get older you start to appreciate them more and ignore the other stuff. I am a mum now and realise my body has changed to how it used to be but sometimes we hold onto the things that used to make us feel good. maybe you mum was a stunner in a bikini years ago and thinks well compared to others her age she still looks great. Think about what your mum might be thinking. Should you judge her? Then again maybe tell her hip and trendy she is for a mum, especially when she wears the groovy stuff.then when you go shopping help her choose, maybe she hates one pieces but might love the style that has boyleg shorts, or a tank top style with bikini bottom. sometimes change is scary and she might need your reassurance to take the plunge. Also when was the last time you mum bought bathers? this bikini could be 10years old and back then she lokked fantastic! | Are Boy Shorts a lot more comfortable than Hi-Cut panties.? I was thinking of switching over cause I no longer like Hi cuts. I want more coverage than bikini or g-string and wondered how they were. Thanks for your advice. | | Oh my goodness, yes boy shorts are more comfortable. By me being 5 foot 1 and 105 pounds I find that Hi-Cut panties should only be used for periods. | Is this bikini top from Victoria's Secret okay for a 14 year old girl to wear? www.victoriassecret.com/ss/Satellite?ProductID=1265384536290&c=Page&cid=1292979629722&pagename=vsdWrapper
I'm going to an indoor water park in a few days and want something really cute to wear, and I really liked this top.
I would get it in the electric pink color.
The bottoms would be full coverage- no string or anything like that.
Is it alright? | | no | How to ask mom for thongs (girls)? my mom and i aren't really close, and we've never been open about talking about "girl things" lol. i'm 14 and i want to start wearing thongs. i don't want them to because of boys or anything and i definitely don't want to let them show, but i just want them to avoid panty lines and because wearing cute underwear kinda makes you feel more confident lol. i don't really know how to ask her for them though. and, today i went shopping with her at victorias secret and i had a coupon for free underwear and a lady who worked there told me that i could chose from three styles: bikini, hipster, and thong, and my mom just quickly said "oh no thongs". i ended up getting the hipster because it has slightly less coverage than the bikini. i think that if i explained to her why i want them she'd be a little more open to the idea, but if i ask her and she says no that'll be really awkward. i'm just really embarrasseed to talk to her about stuff like that. how do i ask her or hint towards buying one? help! haha (: | Oh girl, for one. I got that coupon too! Haha.
And as for my mom, I wouldn't say we're not close but because I work alot & I'm 16. Whatever you reason for thongs is your own personal life so don't worry about it. With your mom, maybe you should throw hints at her. Show her you've matured. Maybe you can buy some leggings and buy a thong with it as well? Try going to a store and buying the thong yourself. If you don't have money, ask her for an allowance. If she ever finds out, give her your reasons: It covers panty lines, and its also good for when you're on periods to cover pads (if you wear them). Either way, you won't stay 14 forever and will eventually wear them with confidence around your mom when you grow up. :) | This my health and physical education oral aye tell me what you think? Hello Mr G and class mates. This oral presentation will explain to you how “women in sport gain sufficient recognition by the media in the 21st century than in previous decades” and how this can still be improved.
The relationship between sport and the media has become so close that without the media the sporting world would collapse. The main income for sport comes from the media, as the media attracts big money through sponsorship and advertisements. The money from this helps clubs to be able to buy and import better players to make the game allot more interesting, the clubs can also use this money to upgrade, build and repair stadiums along with giving the players salaries. Without promotion of sport through the media there would be no new young talent coming through and the sport would become boring and people would loose interest in it. Media has a large impact on games and often games will often be revolved around add breaks. Ever since sport has been broadcast on television games have been changed to attract a wider audience, like one day cricket for example was formed in 1977 because of the media influence to attract a wider audience. A quote from the editor of, the economist (20 July 1996)
“The lure of money is already altering sport and will change it more. Increasingly games will be reorganised to turn them into better television.”(p 367).
The Medias involvement in sport is constantly becoming more important. Sports relationship with the media started out small but become much closer with advancement in technology.
Ever since the media has become involved in sport it has rapidly become a very profitable business. Sport was first introduced into the media in 1956 but had a minimal affect due to lack of communication tools and technology. Then in the 1970’s with the development of technology sport had another go with the world cricket series being televised for the first time to a television audience of 1 million people, from then on the relationship between sport and the media blossomed and were then inextricably linked. Quote Jacques Marchand (1994)
“At the start, the marriage of sport and the media was a love match. It later became a marriage of convenience and today, with the advent of [global] television, it has become, in addition, a marriage based on money.” (p 367)
Since the beginning of sport it has been male dominated and it is only really in the past couple of years women have started to gain some recognition.
The messages the media send about women and women’s sport have a large influence on how female athletes and sports are accepted in society. Women have come a long way in sports from only being able to view sporting events if they were unmarried virgins or prostitutes to now being able to participate and compete in almost every kind of sport, but they still get almost no recognition whatsoever. Women often have to pose either nude or in bikinis due to lack of coverage and promotion. For example in 2000 to gain media publicity, the Australian soccer team had to pose nude in a calendar shoot. In the courier mail on the 12 of November 2008 there were only three news articles on women’s sport out of the thirty eight sport articles there. One of the articles was about tennis player Daniela Hantuchova here is the article I have highlighted the parts I believe that women in sport constantly have to endure (pass it around the room) look at the bottom of that one it says.
“Hantuchova has sustained her carrier well after many years in which a battle to keep weight on her thin 181cm frame was closely monitored by the international media.”
That is an example of the media controlling how sporting women look. The last time a female was on the front page of a news paper or featured on the news was during the Olympics, but still it was images of the girls wearing their tight swim suits or other tight clothes and only featured the attractive girls, yet another example of sexism. The other articles are about the Firebirds net ball team and it mainly spoke about re-signing Tasmin greenway the “English stunner” the article was alright but focused on her looks, And the other article was about the sports stars of the year with a tiny space in the bottom of the page and a photo of Stephanie Rice even though the actual article mentioned her once and was mainly about men. The media have so much control they can do almost anything they like, for example with the women’s beach volleyball they have changed the design of outfits to tiny bikinis, and use many different camera angles to let guys have a “perve” when the girls go to serve, there is a nice close up of their bums. Female beach volleyball has a predominately male auidence due to the media changing the rules to attract a male auidence.
Women need to get more recognition for what they have done for the sporting world, often they are the higher achievers then the males. Take the Olympics for example, the majority of the medals cam | | Honestly, I couldn't make myself read it all, but I'm sure it will get you an A. | I need a cute bikini that covers my chest? Hi,
I have a tight stomach and no boobs. But, alas, I've had ridiculous chest acne since I started middleschool (sad but true, lol). So I was wondering if anyone could find me a bikini with a sports bra-like top and full butt-coverage? Thank you! | The only thing I can think of would be a competition swimsuit, maybe by Speedo or TYR. Might not be as "cute" as you were looking for, though.
Have you tried benzoyl peroxide for the acne? I had chest acne in middle school too (must be hormonal?), and after I made sure to wash the area 1 or 2 times daily and apply a benzoyl peroxide gel after washing it went away. Careful, though- benzoyl peroxide will stain clothes.
Good luck! Happy swimming :-) | How small of a bikini is too small in Miami, FL for my wife in May? Is there such a thing as too small in FL? My wife and I are taking a "Rekindling Adult Themed" trip to Miami, FL this May. And I want her to look smoking hot on the beach. I have been shopping online for her suit, and WOW, some of them are tiny, have ZERO coverage, and most are see through when wet. I just wonder how small I can go with her before I start asking for trouble from the cops or people. I have no problems, personally, with her being totally nude in front of people, so I just don't want to attract the wrong attention to us, but want to have some risky fun. I just really want to enjoy the view :) Let me know what the norm is and how small I can get away with.
The wife is totally hot, and has an amazing body, so she will look great in no matter what I choose. I think a white, side-tie, micro mini, thong, bikini bottom with a teeny-tiny, micro mini, tri-top will be just what I want to see her in...is it do-able and completely accepted there? Let me know your thoughts...Thanks for your help. | | I have been to South Beach a few times and the ladies there only wear a small g-string bottom and most are topless. There is no issue with the police as long as she is wearing some type of bottom. As stated in an earlier post, Miami does have a nude beach. Look up Haulover beach. Also shop for a Wicked Weasel bikini, they look amazing. | Swim with a black swimsuit with no coverage? ok so im on my period... i wear pads.... not tampons! tampons are WAY out of the question because im only 11 and my mom doesnt even use them! and im going to a boy/girl swim party on thursday and i dont want to mis sit! should i say i have swimmer ear?!?! ORRR i have a black bikini. no polka dots or anything just plain black. my flow is barely any if im not wearing a pad it only stains my underwear in a few tiny spots here and there. so can i wear my black bathing suit with no coverage?! or should i just use a little bit of toilet paper just in case!? remember its a boy/girl aprty so i cant a trail of blood following me around even though i dont think that would happen!! PLEASE HELP thank youuu(: | Try this. Get your "little bit of toilet paper" and put it in a bowl of water. See how it fills with water and starts to fall apart? Well, it's going to do that in your bathing suit, and then the pieces will start to come out.
I know for a FACT that periods do NOT stop in water. Thankfully, I was alone in my own pool at the time. Now, I'd never get back in there without a tampon.
I'm a grandmother and I've used tampons since I was a guy. My daughter uses pads, but her daughters use tampons. It's not a matter of age, but a personal choice. If tampons are out of the question for you, then it's your risk. Your swimmer ear story may be your best bet. |
